Ashley's Senior Portraits

About a month or so ago I took some senior portraits for this lovely girl.  It was a quiet Sunday morning, the leaves were just starting to change, everything was so beautiful I could hardly believe that this is my life - I get to do what I love and share it with other people, how did I get so lucky?
I met Ashley a few years ago through a mutual friend but as I used to live in Massachusetts, and she in Vermont, this was only our second time encountering each other.  She came into Burlington and we explored a crazy, unexpectedly gorgeous area that randomly exists behind the Sheraton hotel.  So happy for chance encounters that blossom into beautiful experiences.

I met up with my good friend Taylor the day before I left for school. We went to the Salem Farmers Market, explored a bit then sat under a tree and talked for hours. She graciously let me stick my camera in her face this entire time, too - a true sign of a good friend in my book.

How lucky I am to be a photographer and to have such a gorgeous family as neighbors. Jared and Cindy moved into my neighborhood a little while ago, and they are so kind and friendly (not to mention photogenic)! They wanted some family portraits with their son, Tyler - and their dogs, can't forget the dogs - so we took advantage of a beautiful day in their backyard.

I am so proud of these images. This was my first time really shooting for other people instead of just for myself so I was nervous (I honest-to-goodness had butterflies in my stomach beforehand), but these turned out exactly how I had pictured them.

hello.

Maybe starting a new blog doesn't necessarily require a formal introduction, but I'm going to make one anyway. So, hello!
